Chimp's first pure abstract painting publicly exhibited. The artist conceptualised the painting while traveling to London, manifesting the idea in paint 6 months later at his studio in NZ. Happymess takes inspiration from joy and creates tension through harsh edged geometric elements with a composition that pulls across the canvas. The texture on this work needs to be seen in person, sculptural putty was used to extend the paint from the canvas.
